What is a roller chain?

What is a roller chain? A roller chain is a transmission system that transmits power from one shaft to another. Internal lubricant helps chains last longer and are interchangeable. Chains are usually made of carbon or alloy steel. Stainless steel is sometimes used in food processing machinery or in environments where lubrication is problematic.
